Crazy Day In Real Estate July 6th, 2011
The photo at left is a nice end to a crazy day in real estate. It was taken at 11:15 PM this evening and although you can’t tell from the photo I was standing on Springer Loop in the pouring rain. There was a rainbow barely showing just outside the photo…at 11:15 PM. Isn’t Alaska great? One of the reasons I love real estate is that it is never boring. Just after a long weekend is often even less boring. People have been saving up all their questions over the weekend to ask their Realtor.
Today was even crazier than normal. Jay and I work together as a team. Between us we showed properties to three different parties, wrote three offers, had three closings, and listed one property. That with all the phone calls and emails and other meetings made for a VERY full day.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow…it’s not gonna be boring.

Aahhhh…laska Summers June 25th, 2011
I took an drive this evening up to the Matanuska Glacier to take a few more photos of a new land listing. The owner said there was a view of the glacier from the lot and I hadn’t seen that on my first photo trip so I thought I better take another look.
It was a great evening for a drive, the traffic wasn’t bad, I had some good tunes and the sun was out…although it was a little hazy from forest fire smoke or something.
When I got there I decided to try the steep driveway in my little PT Cruiser and made it to the top.
I was able to find the glacier view from the property…see photo at the top. With some select clearing the view would be fantastic.
I chased up a few bunnies, saw moose trails all over the property and just enjoyed a glorious Alaskan summer evening. The lupine were still in bloom, I checked for blueberries and did notice quite a few bushes but of course it’s about a month early for picking.
On the way back I spotted some moose munching on willows beside the highway and noticed several anglers still canoeing in Long Lake after 10PM.
This photo of Granite Peak was taken at 10:45 PM.
It’s not much for quality but I just had to stop and snap a photo with my phone because it was just a calm, warm, quiet evening and still light at 10:45 PM.
You can’t beat Alaska in the summer.
Oh Yeah!…the lot is for sale. $72,000 for 4.73 acres with a steep driveway that is doable with a PT Cruiser on a good day. You can’t buy many lots like this anywhere in the world. It would be a great investment to just hold for later. I’d rather bet on this lot than the stock market! If you want to find out more here is the MLS listing info.
