The Anchorage Daily News has an ADN article about a new gas well out in Point Mackenzie.
The company, Linc Energy, specializes in Underground Coal Gasification. They are well poised to take advantage of Alaska’s vast coal reserves without actually mining the coal.
In addition, it appears that Linc may be going after coal bed methane in the area. They call it their first well in Alaska, hopefully it proves to be a good one so that they can expand this technology here.
