I arrived at 10 AM in time to lead the plumber to the house so that he could de-winterize it. I got the generator going while he re-connected the plumbing and pressurized the system to make sure we would have no leaks when we turned on the water. When the water came on it was brown because of the sediment, this is normal after the system sits empty for a year. Try it, yours will be brown too! It cleared up quickly and I filled a drinking jug full of delicious, cold glacier water.
By two the inspector arrived to check the house. The inspection took more than two hours and just after he finished the technician arrived to inspect the well and septic. With the well and septic passing with flying colors we locked up and left at 6:30 getting home by 8, a long but pleasant day at Glacier View.
We were right next to the Matanuska River with the glacier in sight the whole time. Sorry, didn’t get any photos other than the two on this post which I took from the highway on the way to the property.
