Well, the total inventory dropped a little more this week. I looked at this week last year and the numbers are very similar so its a typical market for fall. The difference is that the prices this year are higher than they were last year. Not sure if the price increases will stop anytime soon. We still have more buyers than sellers.
But buyers are hit with a double whammy, not only typical houses about $100K more expensive than they were in 2019, the typical buyer can buy about $100K less of a house on the same income as they could in 20219 because of higher interest rates.
Nevertheless, house prices are still higher this year than they were last year. Barring a huge economic crash it looks like the prices will at least hold where they are.
