Martha did the market memo last year and as you can see if you watch the video, spring was a lot further along than it is now. 
• Alaska Real Estat…
While our market is still VERY active, it is not anything close to last year. Last year on this date we had more houses listed, more pended, more closed and more for sale. In addition our days on market last year was 66 compared to 94 today. It’s still a crazy seller’s market, but it’s not INSANE, like it was last year.
In addition to comparing our market to last year, I also did some research on our market compared to elsewhere in the country. There are several places to look at that. One is aei.org which shows that most places in the country experienced a huge run-up in prices with a recent topping out. Unfortunately they don’t include Alaska in their stats…I guess we aren’t part of “america”. There are some other sites that do have Anchorage and even Palmer, but with limited stats. These show that Anchorage and the valley have a very active market compared to other parts of the country.
