Veterans Day, 2009 November 11th, 2009

Happy Veterans Day

I want to take a moment to honor all our veterans and those currently serving in the military. I thank you for your service to our country. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

I talked to a lady this morning whose Yupik father was wounded at the Battle of Attu in World War 2 and carried the shrapnel in his body until he died at 90 years of age.

I would like to thank him and all of the people who have served since that time including my nephew Jeff now serving in the Marines and Adrian currently in Afganistan whose new house built by Pacific North Construction is finished and ready to close.
